On Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes will take on their future ACC foe, the Louisville Cardinals, in the Russell Athletic Bowl. However, they may have to do so without the third-leading receiver on the team.
Tuesday, Matt Porter of the Palm Beach reported that wideout Herb Waters was seen on crutches following the team’s Christmas Eve practice in preparation of the showdown:
After #Canes practice, WR Herb Waters seen on crutches, his R knee in a light brace. Was putting weight on the leg. Did not prax Mon or Tue.

This would be a significant blow to the ‘Canes as they’ll need virtually everyone to be at or near 100% to finish the season on a high note with a win over a very good Louisville team.
The good news, though, is that top wide receiver Phillip Dorsett is said to be very close to 100% after recovering from a knee injury suffered back in October.
Waters was third this season on the team with 406 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
