New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony ruled out for Christmas Day showdown against Thunder

The New York Knicks have a chance at their 10th win on the season at home on Christmas Day as they welcome in the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For the last two days, though, there have been questions surrounding the status of the Knicks’ star, Carmelo Anthony, as to whether or not he’ll be able to take the court. Anthony left Monday’s 103-98 win over the Orlando Magic with a sprained left ankle.

With just a little over a half hour to go until game time, we now know the answer to those questions.

Within the last 24 hours, Anthony has been listed as a game-time decision, and they certainly weren’t joking about that, seeing the timing of this announcement.

This is a huge blow to the chances of the Knicks getting that 10th win inside the Garden today as Anthony has won nine straight against Oklahoma City, averaging 30.2 points per game when matched up with them.
