Report: Texas Tech and Arizona State in talks for future home-and-home series

On Saturday evening, the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Arizona State Sun Devils will face off against one another in the Holiday Bowl. It’s a great match up between two up-and-coming teams from the Big 12 and Pac-12 respectively who may only get better as the next few years go on with their two energetic head coaches, Kliff Kingsbury and Todd Graham.

Saturday may also not be the last time they see each other, neither.

SportsRadio 1340 in Lubbock, TX is reporting that the two schools are currently in talks to play a home-and-home series against each other in the near future. The games would be played back-to-back in 2017 and 2018.

SportsRadio 1340 The Fan has learned that Texas Tech Athletics is in the process of finalizing a two-year, home-and-home, non-conference series between Texas Tech and Arizona State in football

The report also goes on to state that an announcement on the series should come some time in 2014.

Aside from this Saturday, the two teams have met only once before, back in September of 1999.
