The St. Louis Rams have been playing great football over the last couple weeks but have lost offensive tackle Jake Long in the process.

Long suffered a torn ACL and MCL in their previous game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was placed on the injured reserve today which will end his years. St. Louis isn’t in the hunt for a Wild Card berth so right now they’re just trying to end the 2013 season on a good note.

The Rams currently hold the number two pick in the 2014 NFL, a pick they received from the Washington Redskins. So even tho they 7-8 record going into Week 17, they’re looking to add another big piece to their already talented team.

They’ve taken out a couple playoff contenders this year and are preparing to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Seattle is coming off a huge loss against the Arizona Cardinals and another loss to the Seahawks could help out the San Francisco 49ers.

Rodger Safford will play left tackle this week against the Seahawks while his teammate watches from the sidelines. If he travels with the team to Seattle.

Jake Long should be ready to go by Week 1 of the 2014 season, which I know will take forever to get here.
