The Bowling Green Falcons ended their season on a high note a few weeks ago when they were able to defeat–handily–the Northern Illinois Huskies in the MAC Championship Game. One of the reasons they had such an easy time on that night was the fact that Falcons QB Matt Johnson put on a great performance once again.
On Thursday, Bowling Green took the field in Detroit again to see if they can cap everything off with a Little Caesars Pizza Bowl win over the Pitt Panthers of the ACC.
Early on, that seemed very much easier said than done, as the Panthers jumped out to a 17-3 lead nearing the end of the first half after a Tyler Boyd 54-yard punt return.
But, right before the half ended, Bowling Green got themselves in better position, and that was thanks to Johnson once again–and his tight end, Alex Bayer.
With about a minute to go in the game, Johnson rolled to his right and dumped a quick one off to Bayer, who then abused the Panthers’ defense on his way to the end zone, cutting the lead to 17-10, where the score currently sits at the half:
