Florida State OL raising money to send cancer patient to BCS Championship Game

The BCS National Championship Game is rapidly approaching and you’ve heard all about how the Auburn Tigers and Florida State Seminoles stack up against each other and how each team will scheme against Jameis Winston, Tre Mason and Nick Marshall.

But one player you likely haven’t heard about is Seminole’s offensive lineman, Mike Scheerhorn who is raising money to send a young cancer patient and her family to the title game.

Scheerhorn was personally impacted by the devastating effects cancer can take on a family and the incredibly touching generosity of “paying it forward” has proven to be a successful venture so far. Here is the story of Scheerhorn in his own words on how you can help him send the young cancer patient, her parent and her family to the game in Pasadena, Calif on Jan. 6.

According to CBSSports, Scheerhorn has already met the $5,000 goal needed and is approaching the $10,000 mark. Hopefully as more attention is given to this touching gesture that the amount of donations will continue to pour in.
