Josh Barnett on the fighting life and Magic: The Gathering

If Josh Barnett was born a few thousand years ago, he probably would’ve been burning down villages while carefully selecting his spoils as he wiped clean the blood from his double-edged axe. Josh Barnett is decidedly old-school. When he made his debut, the  massive paydays or even regulatory committees where but a distant dream. He fought for sport, and a taste for blood.

Josh Barnett lives his persona as The Warmaster. He’s no longer the Baby Faced Assassin, a moniker given to him years ago. Barnett loves his manga, metal shows and keeps his mind sharp with regular sessions of Magic: The Gathering.

Fightland was able to visit with Josh as he prepares for his UFC 168 showdown against Travis Browne, and they were given a chance to take a trip down memory lane while simultaneously getting a Magic: The Gathering lesson.

Of course, Barnett plays a black deck.
