When you’re great – you want to compete against greatness and that holds true for LeBron James.

The Miami Heat superstar was questioned about Kobe Bryant after the Heat’s Christmas Day win over the Lakers and was quite opinionated on the Black Mamba’s prognosis.

Bryant recently suffered a fracture in his left knee just six days after returning from his achilles injury and there were rumors swirling suggesting he may shut it down for the season so he’d be healthy for the 2014-15 campaign.

That idea didn’t fly with Bryant, who said he’ll be back soon as possible which James agrees with, suggesting that opinions stating Bryant should shut it down are ‘stupid‘:

"“I’ve been hearing reports about people giving their stupid opinion about what he should do,” James added. “He’s not going to sit. That’s not him. That’s not in his nature. He’s an alpha male. He’s going to get healthy, and he’s going to play the game that he loves and has been playing forever."

In addition, James said it’s simply not as special on the court without Bryant and that he loves playing against Bryant’s competition and skill.
