Miami Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson was off to another phenomenal start in 2013. After a stellar freshman year, Johnson rushed for 920 yards and six touchdowns. In the heavily-hyped showdown with the Florida State Seminoles, though, the star running back gruesomely broke his right ankle, ending his season.

Johnson has been going through extensive rehab sessions since, and is currently down in Orlando with his team as they prepare for their date on Saturday with the Louisville Cardinals in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Johnson spoke to Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post recently and was asked about a timetable for his return.

Unfortunately for ‘Canes fans, though, Johnson isn’t yet able to provide a set time as to when he will return to full activity. He’s taking everything day-by-day at this point at the advisement of his doctors:

“I haven’t got a time frame yet,” he said. “I’m just taking it day by day and getting better. I get a checkup every other week, the doctor lets me know what she thinks and we go from there.”
