Shane Morris to start at QB for Michigan Wolverines in Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl; Update on Devin Gardner

After some speculation throughout the week, the University of Michigan head coach Brady Hoke has announced that backup quarterback Shane Morris will start in place of the injured Devin Gardner for Saturday’s Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl showdown with the Kansas State Wildcats.

 

Morris, a freshman, has seen action in three games this season, including a lot of time in mop-up duty in the opener, a blowout over Central Michigan.

In related news, there is also an update on the foot injury of starting QB Gardner.

According to CBS’ Bruce Feldman, Gardner broke his left foot in the third quarter of that classic they had with the Ohio State Buckeyes a few weeks ago, and kept playing:

Michigan and Kansas State will take the field against one another Saturday night at 10:15 PM ET.
