The 22-7, and defending Western Conference Champion, San Antonio Spurs went on the road tonight, staying in the state of Texas, to take on the 16-12 Dallas Mavericks.
San Antonio is coming off that huge Christmas Day loss to the Houston Rockets, so they’re looking for a huge momentum boost in this one, and they’ve been able to hold on to a slim lead through three quarters in this one over Dallas.
The Spurs were clicking early in this one, and that was no more evident than it was on this play from the first quarter.
With just under six minutes to go in the opening period, the Spurs found themselves in a fast break situation, and then Kawhi Leonard found himself slamming one down with the amazing dunk off of that break:
That play right there gave the Spurs the 14-12 lead at the time, and gave the team the jolt it needed offensively to get off and running in this one.
Now, if they can hold on to this fourth quarter lead they have, they should be good.
