We are just days away from the biggest UFC event in history. The greatest fighter to ever step foot inside the Octagon returns against the only man to ever defeat him inside the UFC, Chris Weidman. In July, Anderson Silva, the reigning Middleweight champion of the world, had his 16 fight winning streak snapped in the most dramatic of fashions. After baiting Weidman with his hands at his waist, Anderson was cracked by a left hook that sent him careening to the mat unconscious. Anderson Silva was the champion no more, and Chris Weidman was the man who beat the man. Now, 6 months later, Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman will rematch in the biggest fight MMA has ever seen.
In the co-main event of the evening, Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will throw down for the Women’s Bantamweight championship of the world. After coaching against one another on season 18 of the Ultimate Fighter, the women’s rivalry has reached it’s breaking point. Saturday night, the two will meet in the center of the Octagon to settle their score once and for all.
Editor-in-chief, Josh Sanchez, and I will break down each fight from the main card and predict the winners. After UFC on FOX 9, I hold a slight lead over Josh with a record of 31-21, while he stands at 30-22.
