2013 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington game preview, odds and prediction

To cap off the bowl festivities on Friday night, we have a match up in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl between the Independent 8-4 BYU Cougars and the 8-4 Washington Huskies out of the Pac-12.

Before the Washington Huskies can usher in the Chris Petersen era, they’ll look to get their ninth win of the season against a very good BYU team. Following the departure of Steve Sarkisian to USC, former QB Marques Tuiasasopo will get one chance to coach this talented team comprised of offensive stars QB Keith Price and RB Bishop Sankey.

BYU had themselves sort of a head-scratcher of a year. They lost their opener to a very poor Virginia team, absolutely annihilated a Texas team that would go on to nearly win the Big 12, then lose two of their last four to end the season.

What we know in 2013 is that you never know which BYU team you’re going to get.

Date: Dec. 27

Start Time: 9:30 PM ET

Location: San Francisco, CA

Stadium: AT&T Park

Live Stream: WatchESPN app

Odds: Washington -3

Prediction: There will be two of the most explosive offenses in the nation in this one. BYU QB Taysom Hill has both passed and rushed for over 1,000 yards on the season and Washington running back Bishop Sankey has totaled himself over 1,700 yards on the year.

This could just be one of those “whoever has the ball last, wins” type of outings, which is what we love to see in bowl season.

Washington 45, BYU 41
