On Friday evening, the Washington Huskies will play their final game of the 2013 season in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl when they take on the BYU Cougars. It will be their first contest since their head coach, Steve Sarkisian, was hired to the same position by the USC Trojans.

According to CBS’ Bruce Feldman, it will also be the last game for defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox as he’ll be heading to Southern California with Sarkisian.

Wilcox joins a few more staffers from Washington who have already made the transition to USC. He’ll be taking over for Clancy Pendergast, who did a tremendous job with the Trojans’ defense in 2013 as they were able to pull everything together after a shaky start to the season.

He first made his name as the coordinator of the defense at Boise State in 2006 where he ran things until 2009 during the Broncos’ dominant run.

Before moving to Washington, he coordinated the Tennessee defense for one year where they ranked 28th in the country in total defense.
