During the past few years, the Memphis Grizzlies appeared to have set themselves up for an elongated run of success but so far through the 2013-14 season, the Grizz have fallen flat on their face.
Current owners of a 12-16 record, good for last place in the Southwest Division, frustration is mounting – especially after a recent game against the Houston Rockets in which power forward Zach Randolph blamed the referees for the loss, suggesting the Grizzlies were playing five against eight.
“It’s obvious, it was the refs tonight,” Randolph said, when asked for the game’s turning point. “Eight against five. The game – in the second half – the man was shooting free throws every time. We’re out there playing hard. They’re dictating the game. It can’t be like that, man. We’re out here playing too.”
That wasn’t all however as Randolph continued to blast the officials later during his post game comments.
He may have had a point as Houston Rockets guard James Harden scored 27 points on the night – but only made two field goals in the process.
