New York Knicks owner James Dolan tells team no trades or firings forthcoming

If the New York Knicks are going to turn things around this season, they’re going to do it with their current roster and coaching staff – at least for the foreseeable future, this according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Currently sitting at 9-19 and going 4-6 in their past ten games, the Knicks are struggling mightily but the often impatient owner James Dolan has had a reversal of course, reportedly informing the players that no changes will be coming to the team:

Going online now: ESPN sources say Knicks owner James Dolan told his players Thursday no trades or changes to coaching staff are forthcoming

I’m not sure why Dolan felt the need to announce this other than to possibly give his roster and coaching staff a vote of confidence, hoping the lack of pressure would let them play/coach more freely.

We’ll see if it works in the coming weeks, but it’s hard to imagine Dolan will continue to sit on his hands if the results don’t dramatically improve.
