Oregon CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu reportedly going back to school for senior year

According to a report from Will Rubin of 247 Sportscornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is going to return for his senior year at Oregon.  Along with quarterback Marcus Mariota, these were the two most talented players on the Ducks roster.  Mariota had already decided to return to Eugene, though there have been recent rumblings he might be reconsidering.  Olomu might be the best pure cover corner in the country and this would have a big impact on the NFL Draft, should it hold true.

For a pure man scheme, Olomu is a fantastic weak side corner.  He has outstanding feet with the ability to cause turnovers and the speed to turn them into points.  It is important to keep in mind that all players have until January 15th to make their decision final and until a player hires an agent, they are able to return to school.  It would be a surprise if Olomu did go back to Oregon, but the Duck faithful would be extremely excited as it would give them a big boost if they hope to win a national championship next season.

The Ducks are slated to play Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 30th.  On the whole, the season was a rather disappointing one for Oregon as they had championship aspirations and regarded the Rose Bowl as a failure.  Olomu would be able to finish his degree as well, but it will be interesting to see if he is inclined to change his mind between now and in about 3 weeks.
