Yesterday, a new clip from the upcoming scare fest Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones hit the internet. The title of this one is “Going Down.”
The clip illustrates one of the many reasons I sleep with the light on in my room.
When the clip opens, we see Jesse come walking into what looks like either an abandoned home, or at the very least one that is currently being renovated. He seems a little taken aback that he doesn’t see his friend when he enters the room.
He begins to call out for him, only to find more empty rooms. In the far back corner, you see an empty room with an open hole leading down to the basement. He continues to call out for his friend as he heads for the opening.
You can hear a dog barking from inside the hole, which suddenly comes to a halt in what sounds like an attack on the animal.
I guess Jesse learned nothing from films like The Blair Witch Project and doesn’t know that no matter how noble your cause, going down a dark hole with only one way in or out when you already know that there is something gravely wrong is not exactly the brightest idea. However, I guess exceptions can be made in the defense of a friend or family member.
So, with that in mind, Jesse sets the camera down on the floor and begins to work his way into the opening. Of course, what Jesse doesn’t know is that he is not alone. Once Jesse grabs the camera and starts to make his way down, it is revealed that the daunting shadow figure that has become known with bad things happening is standing right behind him.
Of course, this is where the clip cuts off, giving us just enough information to start pondering Jesse’s demise.
As you know with horror movies, words are never quite enough to convey the true terror in the film, so maybe you should give it a look for yourself.
The film stars Andrew Jacobs as Jesse, Chloe Csengery and Jessica Tyler Brown as a young Katie and Kristi, Molly Ephraim and Katie Featherston returning to their roles as Ali and Katie, and many more.
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is scheduled to be released on January 3, 2014.
