Virginia Tech Hokies have arrived in El Paso, Texas for their Sun Bowl meeting with the UCLA Bruins. When the team arrived at the airport they walked into quite the welcome party.
The Hokies were greeted by a mariachi band, singers and dancers. Hokies head coach Frank Beamer eventually wore a sombrero and danced to the music.
We’ll see if the El Paso airport plays favorites or if the UCLA Bruins get the same welcome. If so, does Jim Mora step up to bat and don the sombrero and start dancing?
Mora also praised the Hokies ahead of their match up.
“They play great special teams, they play outstanding defense. That’s what they do,” Mora said. “They play hard. They play with discipline. You don’t see technique errors. You don’t see missed assignments. You see a bunch of guys who know what they’re supposed to do with a lot of certainty, and they do it fast and they do it with bad intentions.
“It’s an impressive team to watch.”
