2013 Russell Athletic Bowl: Miami vs. Louisville game preview, odds and prediction

Before they become conference brethren in 2014, the Louisville Cardinals and the Miami Hurricanes will battle it out in the 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl on Saturday evening.

In their final year as a member of the AAC, Louisville finished up at 11-1, but they failed to meet expectations, as crazy as that may sound to some. Given their conference, they were expected to finish the season unblemished, however they weren’t able to survive the surge by eventual conference champion Central Florida.

Also, aside from this being the Cardinals’ last game in the AAC, will this be the last time that we see QB Teddy Bridgewater with the Louisville uniform on?

Miami comes in at 9-3, after getting off to a 7-0 start. After that, they were smacked in the mouth on the road against Florida State, then followed that up with losses to Virginia Tech and Duke consecutively.

Still, at 9-3, this program continues to make strides in the right direction of getting this once-powerful program back on track.

Date: Dec. 28

Start Time: 6:45 PM ET

Location: Orlando, FL

Stadium: Florida Citrus Bowl

Live Stream: WatchESPN app

Odds: Louisville -4

Prediction: One last tremendous showing for Teddy Bridgewater will happen in this one. With the Miami front having trouble getting pressure all season, Teddy B will have a lot of time to work with his offense, which generally never ends well for the opponent.

Miami is ALMOST there, but Louisville IS there.

Louisville 41, Miami 31
