Penn State Nittany Lions head coach Bill O’Brien is working on a deal to become the next head coach of the Houston Texans after they fired Gary Kubiak and if this indeed does come to fruition, could former Penn State assistant and player Al Golden return to Happy Valley?
Curious if Golden would leave IF offered #PSU job. He’s just emerged from a dark cloud. Would he want to embrace an tougher rebuilding job?

Golden played for Penn State from 1987-1991 and later returned to coach the linebackers in 2000 before his career took off as the defensive coordinator with the Virginia Cavaliers which led to his first head coaching gig with the Temple Owls and now with the Miami Hurricanes.
As Feldman noted in his tweet, it’s a big “if” Golden were to be even offered by Penn State should O’Brien leave for the NFL and after going from six to seven to nine wins this season, the arrow is clearly pointing up for the Hurricanes under Golden’s watch.
If there was one job in the country Golden would leave Miami for it certainly could be for his alma mater where Christian Hackenberg is positioned to be one of the country’s best quarterbacks after a strong freshman season.
