Joakim Noah will play for the Chicago Bulls tonight vs. the Dallas Mavericks after missing Friday’s practice with a hip injury. Luol Deng remains a game-time decision for the game that will tip at 7:00 p.m. from the United Center.
Noah is averaging 10.6 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game for the 11-16 Bulls who have struggled mightily since losing Derrick Rose with another knee injury. Noah, however has been arguably the team’s best player this year, especially in December where he’s averaging 13.1 PPG and 11.9 RPG.
Deng is unlikely to play through his Achilles heel injury despite being a game-time decision. He has missed the team’s last three games and seven of the last 10. A stretch of games that has seen the Bulls go 3-7 without their All-Star small forward.
The Bulls have been shopping Deng with the hopes of landing a first round draft pick in return, but it’s awfully difficult to trade a player with as much tread on the tires as Deng.
