An Auburn Tigers fan called months ago and talked to Paul Finebaum on-air about the potential that a one-loss Auburn team gets to the BCS Championship game. At the heart of the question was whether they’d leapfrog an undefeated team to get into the game. Finebaum said that if they did all that he’d get the fan, identified as Joshua Smitherman, tickets to the BCS National Championship game.
“I’ll make you this promise Josh, and boy I shouldn’t be doing this. If Auburn does all that and gets in the national championship game, I’ll take you to Pasadena,” Finebaum said.
Auburn is in the game against Florida State, though they didn’t have to leapfrog an undefeated team to do it. At first Smitherman said that Finebaum was backing out, but in the end Finebaum came through and gave him two tickets:
Apparently @finebaum just gave that fan two tickets on the air. Good for him.

Though it seemed to come with a catch, travel and hotel arrangements. Smitherman said in the comments of this thread that they were trying to get him on the charter flight out of Atlanta.
