The Golden State Warriors defeated the Phoenix Suns 115-86 at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, CA. The Warriors improved to 18-13, and the Suns fell to 17-11.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with a triple double, scoring 14 points, collecting 13 boards, and dishing out 16 assists. Curry also had seven turnovers, but we will let the turnovers slide tonight.
The Warriors shot 52.9% from the field, and outrebounded the Suns 56-41. When you factor in the Suns shooting 36.0% from the field, the final score is no longer surprising.
P.J. Tucker was the only Phoenix player to score in double digits. He finished with a double double, scoring 11 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Many of the Phoenix bench players saw significant playing time. Although it was a balanced scoring effort with the starters scoring 44 points and the bench scoring 42 points, the problem was that neither scored enough.
Golden State shooting guard Klay Thompson led all scorers with 21 points on nine of eleven shooting from the field. David Lee chipped in 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Small forwards Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green both finished with 11 points.
Next game: The Warriors play at Cleveland on Sunday at 6 pm ET. The Suns play the 76ers on Saturday at 9 pm ET.
