St. Katherine at San Diego State final score: Aztecs win 118-35

San Diego State head coach Steve Fisher did not take his foot off the gas as the Aztecs defeated St. Katherine College 118-35 at Viejas Arena in San Diego, CA. The Aztecs improved to 10-1.

This was a runaway win for the Aztecs.  SDSU began the game with a 13-0 run, and led 63-17 at the half.  I thought the Aztecs would ease up in the second half, but I guess Coach Fisher felt he needed to get his team in attack mode after the holiday break.

SDSU top performers: Sophomore guard Winston Shepard scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals.  Junior forward Dwayne Polee II netted 19 points and collected 12 boards.  Junior guard Aqeel Quinn scored 14 points and dropped six dimes.  Freshman forward Matt Shrigley scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four assists.  Senior guard Xavier Thames and sophomore forward Skylar Spencer finished with 10 points.

St. Katherine top performers: Sophomore forward Joshua White scored nine points and collected four rebounds.  Freshman forward Jonathan Wood chipped in six points, and freshman center Jimmy Roethler grabbed seven boards.

San Diego State heads to Colorado State (8-4) on January 1st to begin conference play in the Mountain West.
