Orlando Magic shooting guard Arron Afflalo shot 7 of 10 from the field, scoring 21 points and dishing out 7 assists as the Magic pulled out a 109-102 win over the Al Horford-less Atlanta Hawks at the Amway Center in Orlando.
The Magic led for most of the way in what was mostly a close game, and were able to pull away after the Hawks tied it up at 79 shortly after the start of the fourth quarter. Rookie Victor Oladipo and Afflalo played very well down the stretch to help the Magic regain and maintain it’s slim lead.
Big man Nikola Vucevic put up 16 points on 8 of 11 shooting and pulled down 14 boards, while Oladipo scored 15 points and contributed 8 assists despite turning the ball over 5 times. Starting point guard Jameer Nelson added another 8 assists.
The Hawks scuffled without Horford, who is likely out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, and fell to 17-14 on the season, including just a 5-10 mark on the road. Jeff Teague led the way with 22 points and 8 assists . The Magic are now 10-20, and 7-9 at home.
