NFL Playoffs: San Diego Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals game time
According to Tom Krasovic of the UT San Diego, the San Diego Chargers will play the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, January 5th at 1:05 pm ET. The game will take place in Cincinnati as part of the NFL Wild Card Playoffs.
The Chargers secured the sixth seed in the AFC Playoffs with a 27-24 overtime win against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bengals are the third seed in the AFC.
San Diego went into the game against the Chiefs knowing that a win would guarantee a playoff birth. Earlier in the day, the Bengals defeated the Ravens, and the Jets defeated the Dolphins, giving San Diego a shot at the playoffs with a win over the Chiefs.
The chances looked slim with four seconds to go in the fourth, and the game tied at 24. The Chiefs had a chance to go ahead with a 41-yard field goal, but Ryan Succop barely missed the kick wide right. In overtime, Nick Novak gave the Chargers the lead with a 36-yard field goal, and the Chiefs were unable to answer on their next possession.
Everything went right for the Chargers to secure their first playoff birth in three years.
