It was a bit of a lost season for wide receiver Roddy White, but that doesn’t mean the Atlanta Falcons have soured on their star receiver. In fact, it’s the complete opposite.

During the season ending press conference for Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff, he expressed a desire to extend the contract of their Pro Bowl talent:

"#Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff said the team is looking forward to signing Roddy White to a contract extension."

White is signed for the 2014 season, however, it’s for $5 million dollars – a number the Falcons would likely prefer to reduce.

The 32-year-old Roddy White is among the elite wide receivers in the game, so he’ll certainly command a hefty signing bonus if the two sides do agree to extend the contract.

Doing so would leave the Falcons with more cap space going into free agency, allowing them to patch holes within their roster while keeping White financially happy.
