Houston Texans’ running back Ben Tate is scheduled to be a free agent in the offseason.

On Monday afternoon, he sent out a series of tweets thanking the team and saying he would miss his Texans’ teammates.

Over the last few seasons, Tate has served as the backup to Arian Foster. While Foster was injured this season, Tate rushed for 771 yards and four touchdowns on 181 carries.

Of course, Tate didn’t completely rule out a return to Houston, but he’s right, the odds are against it.
