The Miami Dolphins added cornerback Brent Grimes in the offseason with a one-year deal worth $5 million. Grimes was coming off an Achilles injury, and their faith was rewarded. Grimes was their best defensive back and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl.
Grimes is a free agent again, and he has stated that he’d like to stay in South Beach.
“I like it here. I like the coaches, I like the players and it’s a good team,” Grimes said, via ESPN.com. “Obviously, we didn’t finish how we wanted to and close out the season well. But I just let my agents handle everything. If [the Dolphins] want to keep me here, they’ll see how it goes.”
If they can’t agree the franchise tag is an option, but it’d be the second time Grimes had been franchised which will up the price tag.
