Louisville Cardinals dismiss Chane Behanan from team

Back in October, 6-6 junior forward Chane Behanan was indefinitely suspended from the Louisville Cardinals basketball team for a violation of university policy. Just a month later, head coach Rick Pitino reinstated him to the team.

On Monday, the drama went a step further as Behanan has been dismissed from the team by the defending champions:

Behanan only ended up missing one regular season game so far this year, although he hasn’t really made a significant difference. In Saturday’s loss to the rival Kentucky Wildcats, Behanan scored zero points, and he’s averaging just over seven points per game so far which is a significant drop from his production last season.

Still, though, losing a player like Behanan is a blow to the champs. We’ll never find out now if he could have gotten himself together enough to help the team make another run at a title, like he did last season.
