Sunday afternoon couldn’t have went much worse for the Miami Dolphins. In addition to being knocked out of the playoff race in the final week of the regular season, wide receiver Brian Hartline suffered a torn PCL.
Thankfully, the injury isn’t as bad as it sounds as Hartline won’t need surgery and barring any setbacks should be ready for the start of the 2014 training camp.
Brian Hartline MRI results confirm PCL tear. No surgery required. Will be ready for training camp.
Hartline went down early in the Dolphins loss but was seen standing on the sidelines before eventually making his way towards the locker room for further evaluation. That helped to ease fears that the wide receiver may have suffered a more damaging ACL injury.
It isn’t expected that the torn PCL will hamper Hartline moving forward, so he should be good to go once his rehab commences.
He finished the 2013 campaign with 76 catches for 1016 yards and four touchdowns. It marked the second time in his career that he eclipsed 1,000+ yards receiving.
