We are just 2 days away from ringing in the New Year. This means that we are only 4 days away from the release of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. Hey, why not ring in the New Year with a good scare?
Late last week, the people at Paramount Pictures unveiled a new trailer for the film, which gave us a slightly deeper look into the scarefest.
The trailer starts out where the original trailer for the film started; a party. Little do these nice people know that the party is not going to last very much longer.
It flips through a few of the scenes that you have seen before, like when the car mysteriously stalls out on Jesse and someone (or something) attempts to yank him from the vehicle and the creepy vision of the two little girls with the blacked out eyes, who I am fairly certain are the younger versions of Kristi and Katie.
There are also scenes that you have not seen before, like someone being jettisoned across the room by a dark entity, which from the very quick glimpse we get looks like Jesse, and a very brief glimpse into the final scenes of the film.
Throughout the course of the trailer, they have interspersed footage of the crowd from previous screenings, so that definitely adds some extra jump to the trailer. The ominous version of Auld Lang Syne certainly doesn’t serve to calm the nerves either.
The trailer promises an ending that we will never see coming. The Paranormal Activity movies have not disappointed in the past when it comes to bringing the scares, so there is no reason to believe that it will start now.
However, it will be interesting to see where they end this film, as Paranormal Activity 5 is already slated to get back to the normal pattern of October releases. Paranormal Activity 5 is scheduled to be released on October 24, 2014.
Here is a look at what may be one of the final trailers for the film prior to Friday’s release of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is scheduled to be released on January 3, 2014.
