2013 AdvoCare V100 Bowl: Arizona vs. Boston College game preview, odds and prediction

To start off the New Years Eve bowl slate on Tuesday, we start off with the AdvoCare V100 Bowl pitting the Arizona Wildcats of the Pac-12 Conference against the Boston College Eagles of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Arizona comes in at 7-5 on the season and had a bit of a roller coaster ride to end the season. They had arguably their best win under Rich Rodriguez when they absolutely tore apart the Oregon Ducks, but they then followed that up with a lopsided loss to the rival Arizona State Sun Devils to end the regular season.

Boston College, under first-year head coach Steve Addazio, surprised a lot in the ACC by going 7-5, following up a two-win campaign in 2012. Behind 2,000-yard rusher and Heisman finalist Andre Williams, the Eagles showed that the future is bright in Chestnut Hill. It should also be noted that they were the only team to give the top-ranked Florida State Seminoles any sort of scare, building a 17-3 lead over FSU at one point.

Date: Dec. 31

Start Time: 12:30 PM ET

Location: Shreveport, LA

Stadium: Independence Stadium

Live Stream: WatchESPN app

Odds: Arizona -7.5

Prediction: People are tuning in to this for one reason and one reason only–to watch two of the best running backs in the game go at it. While Boston College has Williams, Arizona has a back that’s not too shabby himself in Ka’Deem Carey, who rushed for over 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns this season.

However, I trust the Arizona defense a little bit more than I do BC’s, but this will not be the last you see of Boston College for the next few years to come under Addazio.

Arizona 31, Boston College 20
