When the UFC announced that Abel Trujillo and Bobby Green were set to fight at UFC 169 in February, many were excited to see the two prospects face off against one another. That fight would have been the third for Bobby Green in four months. Unfortunately, Green was injured in training, and former WEC Lightweight champion, Jamie Varner will replace him.
This fight is no longer a battle between two Lightweight prospects, but it is still a fantastic replacement. UFC News tweeted the story earlier today:

The tweet has a slight mistake in it, as Jamie Varner is the one who is replacing Bobby Green. Regardless, this fight has ‘fight of the night’ written all over it.
Neither man is ranked in the top 15 in the Lightweight division, but an impressive win here could very well cement their place in the rankings. Varner is 2-2 since returning to the Octagon, and most recently lost to Gleison Tibau at UFC 164. Trujillo is 2-1 and 1 no contest inside the UFC thus far. He most recently defeated Roger Bowling by TKO in round 2 back at UFC on FOX 9.
