Oregon State receiver Brandin Cooks to declare for 2014 NFL Draft

Oregon State wide receiver and Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation’s top receiver, Brandin Cooks is declaring for the 2014 NFL Draft.

The 5-10, 186-pounder had 128 receptions for 1,738 yards and 16 touchdowns this year for the 7-5 Beavers. He had eight, 100-yard games this season and two, 200-yard games.

Cooks finishes his Oregon State career with 226 catches for 3,272 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Cooks even showed some versatility and had 32 rushing attempts for 217 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He profiles as a slot receiver in the NFL.

In a loaded class for wide receivers it will be difficult for Cooks to crack the first round, but he is a great talent. He likely will be drafted sometime on Day 2 in the second or third rounds.

As is the case with most receivers his time in the 40-yard dash will be crucial to his draft stock.
