Dwayne Johnson Teases Participation in an Upcoming DC Project

Today, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson held one of what he likes to call his #RockTalk sessions on Twitter. This is where he takes questions from fans using the hashtag #RockTalk and answers them through his Twitter account. This afternoon, he held one of these sessions, and ended up teasing something that now has the internet aflutter with speculation.

A Twitter user who uses the handle @ActionTilson asked Johnson what hero or villain he would be interested in playing should he ever be approached by the likes of DC or Marvel.

The response “The Rock” have has quite a few people raising the “People’s Eyebrow.”

Now, this is not the first time that Johnson has been linked to a project for DC. His name has been tossed around for two separate projects for DC. First was involvement on the currently on hold Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam which is now just being referred to as Shazam. He also teased that he may have been in consideration to play the interstellar mercenary Lobo, which is also currently in limbo.

As far as anyone can tell, the only project on course for DC that is set to begin filming in 2014 is the currently untitled follow up to Zack Snyders Man of Steel, which is currently being referred to as Batman vs. Superman. While there is absolutely nothing written in stone a this moment, I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss this as a possibility.

The Rock was most recently named the highest grossing actor of the year. This means that his name helps to bring in millions of dollars to a film. Not like a film such as Batman vs. Superman needs help bringing in fans, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

If Dwayne Johnson were to be approached for this project, who do you think he should play? Is there a particular role you feel would suit him the best?
