Jay Cutler wants to stay with Bears, every quarterback wants to be in Chicago

There has been speculation that the Chicago Bears are looking to move on from quarterback Jay Cutler. According to Paul Banks of the SportsBank.net, the two sides are headed towards a split.

“A source close to Mark Block, the head of both the Mark Block agency and the Jay Cutler Foundation told The Sports Bank this morning that the Chicago Bears are likely to move in a different direction.”

“I was also told this morning that the organization will likely move to retain Josh McCown and focus on rebuilding the defense in the NFL draft in May.”

Cutler has repeatedly expressed a desire to stay with the Bears organization and he has reiterated those desires now that the season is over.

“I think if you polled quarterbacks around the league, everyone’s going to want to come here,” Cutler said, via the Chicago Tribune. “Why wouldn’t you want to play here? We’ve got a lot of guys who can make some plays. It would be fun to stay here. Obviously I want to stay here.”

Cutler is right, with wide receivers like Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, who wouldn’t want to be quarterback for the Bears.

NOW PAY JAY CULTLER, HE DESERVES A CONTACT, HE IS A TOP RANKED QB, NOT PAY HIM BEFORE WE REGRETE THAT TOO…AND TRESTMAN DOESN’T KNOW WHAT DEFENSE IS MAYBE WE SHOULD SHOW HIM WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO DO…BECAUSE THEY DON’T KNOW, IT WAS EMBARASSING TO WATCH HOW BAD THEY WERE. I
IF YOU DON’T PAY JAY, I HOPE OUR RECIEVERS LEAVE ALSO AND MOVE ON WITH THE QB THEY WANT TO PLAY WITH…OUR OWNER IS SO CHEAP, THAT IS WHY WE CAN’T WIN A SUPER BOWL. FIRST FORTE, THEN URLACKER, NOW CUTLER, THOSE DECISIONS DID NOT WORK OUR TO GOOD FOR US DID THEY…

    Sandra,
I do agree that they need to keep Cutler.
They fired Lovie b/c for almost 10 years he couldnt figure out the offensive side of the ball. Do you know how bad they would have been with Lovie’s offense this year. They would likely be 6-10 with his pathetic offense, b/c they couldnt keep up with the teams.
You need a great offence now and a mediocre def would do it. Lovie had a healthy defense too. Losing Tillman, Melton, Collins, and Briggs (for a good chunk of the season) made it almost impossible for the def. Conte was a Lovie guy who SUCKS. They let the defense get too old. They need to drop Tucker, but Trestman gives this team the best chance to win in the long term.
