The UCLA Bruins have had an outstanding season under the leadership of quarterback Brett Hundley, and it’s a successful season that still might be followed up by another run next year led by Hundley. Despite rampant rumors that the Bruins quarterback will jump to the NFL this offseason, the man himself states that he still has some thinking to do before he comes to a final decision.
After the Bruins destroyed Virginia Tech in the Sun Bowl this afternoon, Hundley told a CBS reporter that he still hasn’t decided on entering the NFL Draft this year or if he’s going to return to UCLA for one more season in 2014.
“I’m going to sit down and talk to the right people,” Hundley said to CBS after the Sun Bowl on Tuesday. “I’ll make [a decision] from there.”
If Hundley enters the draft, he’ll be doing so along with one of the richest quarterback classes we’ve seen in some time. If he waits, he could become a top pick next season or he could fall into the trap of sinking his status with a bad year or an injury. Fans and analysts have their opinions on what Hundley should do but as far as the ultimate decision, no one can definitively make that other than Hundley.
Hundley has until January 15, 2014 to decide if he wants to declare for the NFL Draft in April or return to UCLA for his junior season.
