The final night of the 2013 calendar year is here. Like every year there will be parties going on around the country, none arguably bigger than the one going on in Times Square in New York City.

Every year hundreds of thousands flock to Times Square to watch the annual ball drop. If you aren’t in New York or don’t want to fight  the crowds and cold weather there are other options.

You can watch it comfortably on your couch on network television or via various mobile apps. They are even live streaming the ball drop commercial free via Live Stream.

The ball drops at mid night eastern time, so everyone not on the east coast look for it at the according time. Coverage starts at 5:55 p.m. ET.

  • 6 p.m.: Organizers will light and raise the ball
  • 6:58 p.m.: Hourly countdown begins; U.S.O. Troupe performs
  • 8:15 p.m.: Rodney Atkins performs
  • 8:35 p.m.: Icona Pop performs
  • 9: 14 p.m.: Melissa Etheridge performs
  • 9:32 p.m.: Blondie performs
  • 9:52 p.m.: NASA astronauts will deliver a New Year’s message from space
  • 11:59 p.m.: The countdown to the ball drop begins
