USC Trojans defensive end George Uko is declaring for the NFL Draft, making him the third Trojan to declare for the NFL Draft along with safety Dion Bailey and offensive lineman Marcus Martin with more expected to leave. The junior hailing from Chino, California had 12 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked kick this season.
Uko’s last play as a member of the Trojans was in the Royal Las Vegas Bowl against Fresno State, where he was ejected, which is not the last impression he was hoping to leave. Initially recruited as a defensive tackle, Uko has slimmed down the past few years and kicked to the exterior of the line, but has the ability to play in multiple spots in a defensive front. Uko was part of an effective defensive unit for the Trojans that tried to make up for what had been an anemic offense most of the season.
