On Tuesday night, Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver had four catches for 72 yards in the epic comeback win over the Duke Blue Devils in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. It was an emotional win for Evans as he and his Aggie team was not only down huge to their ACC opponent, but Evans personally didn’t get off to the best start, losing his temper and drawing a personal foul early on, and having to be talked to by Johnny Manziel on the sideline afterward.
As emotional of a win as that was in what could possibly have been Evans’ last collegiate game, that emotion didn’t get the best of him when asked about his 2014 NFL Draft status.
“I’m going to enjoy this one,” said Evans, who left the Georgia Dome with a slight limp. “But I’m going to announce soon, probably (Tuesday night) or (Wednesday) … when I get back, or on Twitter.”
It was reported by NFL.com this week that Evans and Manziel indeed were playing their final game on Tuesday night as the report from Gil Brandt said that both are headed off to the professional ranks.
Evans finished with an outstanding year in 2013 with 69 catches for 1,394 yards an 12 touchdowns.
