Wednesday afternoon with mark the 100th anniversary of one of the greatest bowl games to ever be created, the Rose Bowl. In this event this season, the Big Ten Champion Michigan State Spartans will take on the Pac-12 Champion Stanford Cardinal.

Michigan State used a stout defensive effort to ride their way to a 10-1 regular season record, Then, they pulled off what some thought was unthinkable by defeating the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes in the conference championship game, knocking OSU out of the BCS title game and inserting themselves into this one, definitively.

Stanford comes in at 11-2 on the season and are also riding the momentum of their beat down on Arizona State in the conference title game. Head coach David Shaw and the Cardinal are in search of their second consecutive Rose Bowl trophy in this one. They defeated Wisconsin last season.
