Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron was set to be one of the biggest stars at the 2014 Senior Bowl in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama, but it looks like he is not going to be gracing the all-star game with his presence.
According to reports, McCarron has decided to decline his Senior Bowl invitation and will let his past four years of play do all of the talking.
From Gil Brandt of NFL.com:
Was told #Alabama QB AJ McCarron will not accept his Senior Bowl invite. Standing on play last 4 yrs w Tide.

While it would have been nice to see McCarron playing on the Senior Bowl stage in front of the home fans, it shouldn’t hurt his draft stock that he has decided not to play.
Instead, McCarron can focus on preparing for the scouting combine and private workouts, which is where his real money will be made. When it is all said and done, there is a good chance that McCarron will be a day two pick.
