Baylor HC Art Briles would listen and take Texas job if approached, report says

Art Briles is one of the hottest coaching prospects in the country with what he has been able to do in Waco with the Baylor Bears program.  Briles has come out and say he is not pursuing the NFL, but has not said anything about other college programs.  A report is saying he would listen to Texas if they came calling and take that head coaching vacancy if offered.

This seems like a terrific fit for the Longhorns given what Briles has been able to do in Waco.  Baylor runs a power style of football that Texas wants to think of themselves as being able to do, but they also have had excellent quarterback play and speed on the outside in their wide receivers.  First and foremost, Baylor runs the football and wants to run it down hill, using that to set up the passing game and beat people on the outside.

Briles has set up a program in Baylor that makes it extremely difficult for opponents to stop, allowing them to pile up a ton of points.  He knows how to recruit in Texas and if he is in Austin, he should conceivably have even more ability to bring in blue chip players to build that program back up to a contender for the National Title as well as a yearly favorite in the Big XII.
