The South Carolina Gamecocks are taking on the Wisconsin Badgers in the Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day. While driving in the second quarter in a tie ball game, Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier dug-deep in the playbook for a trick play.
The play started off with quarterback Connor Shaw getting the snap. He quickly handed it off, from the shot gun position to wide receiver Pharoh Cooper who was lined up as a tail back. Be takes it towards the far side line and tosses it to fellow wide receiver Bruce Ellington who is cutting the other direction like a reverse.
Ellington acts like it is a reverse play before heaving the ball up to the far side of the end zone where Shaw has snuck in. Shaw sitting there catches the pass for a touchdown reception to give the Gamecocks the lead.
Ellington has also caught three passes for 91 yards and a touchdown reception.
