The Michigan State Spartans had not only one of their best seasons in a while, but they’ve had an incredible ride to the Rose Bowl which included a huge upset win over Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game. The magic is continuing in Pasadena on New Year’s Day as the Spartans continue to hand in their against David Shaw’s Stanford team and have lined themselves up for a classic rose bowl finish.

With the game tied 17-17 early in the fourth quarter, the Spartans marched down the field and eventually ran a play that saw wide receiver Tony Lippett catch a bullet from quarterback Connor Cook. Lippett could have gone down before he made it to the goal line but kept his balance and strode into the endzone for the Michigan State lead.
