Today is the first day of the new year and it hasn’t taken long for us to get the longest touchdown of 2014. In fact, the score from the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Gator Bowl will finish the year as the longest offensive touchdown no matter what happens moving forward.

Lined up at the one-yard line with their back to their own goal line, Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. completed a pass to senior wide receiver Quincy Enunwa, who was able to scamper 99 yards for a touchdown.

The score extended the Cornhuskers lead over the Georgia Bulldogs, 24-12, in the third quarter.
