Meyer: Roby probably isn’t going to play. Curtis Grant should be good to go.

Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer said in media availability today (Wednesday) that Bradley Roby, the team’s best cornerback is probably going to be unavailable when they take on the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl. This would be a blow for the Buckeyes as the Tigers have one of the more talented wide receivers in the country in Sammy Watkins. Curtis Grant would stop in for the injured Roby, but Doran Grant may draw the responsibility of covering Watkins.
There are plenty of good matchups in this game, but the possible Roby-Watkins matchup was one that many in the scouting and NFL Draft community were particularly interested to see. Both are regarded as possible first round picks and this would be a great venue to see them play head to head.
Roby has declared for the NFL Draft and while he could change his mind, since he has not hired an agent yet, he did participate in Ohio State’s senior day in their final home game of the season. If he is unable to play, the loss against Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship would have been his last game as a member of the Buckeyes.
