The New Orleans Pelicans had no answer for the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night. The Wolves shot 44-of-79 from the field (55.7%) and made 28 of their 35 free throw attempts in a 124-112 win over the Pelicans.

Nikola Pekovic led the Wolves with 22 points and seven rebounds, Kevin Love scored 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists and Ricky Rubio had 20 points, three rebounds and three assists. J.J. Barea came off of the bench to pour in 17 points and five assists.

The Pelicans gave a good offensive effort as well, shooting 45-of-87 from the field (51.7%). However,  a lot of their points came in garbage time – the Pelicans had a 39-point fourth quarter after being down by as many as 30 points at one time.

Ryan Anderson had 25 points and five rebounds to lead the Pelicans while Jrue Holiday added 19 points and five assists and Tyreke Evans scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists off of the bench.

Eric Gordon returned from his hip injury and had 12 points on five-of-12 shooting in 29 minutes.

The win improved the Timberwolves to 16-16 while the loss dropped the Pelicans to 14-16.
